The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large carpet and bean bags will be placed in the back of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons and independent reading time. The manipulative box, among the tiles, fraction pieces, numbers game etc. will be used in 4 classes to allow students a hands on option to understanding math concepts. The geo maps will be used to allow students to understand the world in their geography class. The clipboards and lap desks will be offered to students, so they may work where they are comfortable. The tissues and sanitizer are to maintain a healthy environment. The college flags and mirror are to promote higher education to expose my students to various colleges and letting them know they can go to college if they choose to. The fidget devices (stress balls and bands) will allow my students to direct their energy in a less distracting manner to allow them to put more mental energy into learning. Lastly, the noise cancelling headphones are for my students who struggle with auditory senses and students with physical disabilities that need assistance with a speech to text device. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' ability to access rigorous curriculum and take steps forward to closing the achievement gap.
