I teach 4th grade at Dresden Elementary School. I have the privilege of educating students who are caring, kind, and polite. They strive to put forth their best effort even though they face many challenges. My school is a Title I school that is comprised mostly of Hispanic children who are English Language Learners, and come from families of low socioeconomic status. Their parents are eager to help them succeed in school, but they are sometimes limited in aiding with tasks such as homework due to their limited English proficiency. It is vital that the students' time at school is utilized effectively to provide rich instruction that is accompanied with educational tools and supplies that motivate and aid them in their academic achievement. Therefore, I make an effort to continually give my students my best with the belief that it will encourage them to give me theirs in return.
