As I mentioned before, my students see our classroom as a second home. Right when students enter in the classroom we hold Morning Meetings as a check in with one another. We share our feelings and experiences. We would really benefit from this classroom carpet because it would make our classroom feel more like a home and it will bring us closer together during our morning meetings. Instead of sitting at our seats, we can come together on the carpet and hold our morning meetings. We could also gather during read alouds and math talks for guided instruction. This would assist students in academic success.
