Most of my student come from low income families and don't ever get the chance to leave our town. Many have never even been to a zoo or museum. They also struggle with reading which makes them feel as if they are not smart. When we do hands on activities, they learn more and it helps them to realize that they are smart and can learn too. Just because they struggle in one subject doesn't mean that they can't be great at another one.

About my class
