Currently, my students use paper and pencil to monitor their reading progress; however, there are programs for the iPad that can replace these assessments using a more engaging format. With our push towards embracing technology, an iPad would help my reading groups to embrace technology even more while also being more eco friendly. Besides switching the assessments to a digital format, the iPad will be used to allow students to read interactive books and participate in various engaging literacy activities that I build using Google Slides. My students can use all of the motivation they can get, and the ability to work on an iPad would be a great offering for my struggling readers.
