In seventh grade science, students spend a significant amount of time learning about human body systems. Fetal pigs are the most comparable animal to the human body to dissect. This will be the culminating project for the human body systems unit. This project will help students get a hands on look at body systems and how they work as a whole. Students will be able to clearly see and explore the digestive system, respiratory system, and circulatory system. This is a true comparative anatomy project for my students. Using the fetal pigs, my students work in a group as investigative scientists while locating and learning about body systems and tissues.
