My students are very inspiring. They are all students with disabilities. Our school is a large educational community that strives to create the most memorable high school experience possible for our students. We have the same events that are found in "typical" high schools such as prom, dances, and senior trips. As a speech teacher, I work with many of the students in the building. Even though my students are disabled, they encounter the same problems as their "typical" counterparts. Bullying is one of the biggest issues in our school. However because of the cognitive disabilities as well as the limited speech capabilities, it is very difficult to teach students the appropriate way to deal with bullying.
