With these materials, the students will be able to focus on learning about the unique ecosystems in the Volcano area, and cultivate responsibility for nature and the environment. They will also learn Hawaiian proverbs that connect to our place-based learning and be able to take what values they learned and teach others in their families and communities.
The best way to learn something is to teach it to someone!
They will be able to transform their learning into artwork that they can laminate and display in the classroom, as well as take home and display + educate families on what they learned about our area and our unique resources. They will also be able to share what they have learned via digital art, vlogs and informational videos that they can create using the iPad and accessories.
With these materials, each grade level will have their own set of art supplies and container to store them in so they would not need to share with grades outside of their bubble.
