In order for my students to take control of their reading growth, they require a multitude of texts at their fingertips. Magazines add variety and richness to their daily reading by providing high interest materials that are current. Getting a variety of texts in my classroom and encouraging students to explore multiple pieces of literature will help them find their love of reading. At any given time, I would like my students have 8-12 text items at their hands for reading whether they are magazines, books, or poems. With that comes the struggle of keeping the texts that my students keep at their seats neat, tidy, and organized enough that they can be enjoyed for many years to come. In order to accomplish this, I would love to get durable, plastic book boxes for them to store their individually chosen reading materials.
