The flexible seating model will not only contribute to differentiating the learning in my classroom, but it will also contribute to my students' ability to showcase their knowledge while being comfortable and accommodating their own individual needs. As each student in my first grade classroom learns in a different way, using a variety of seating options will allow me to teach curriculum while enabling diversity in their learning. My students crave hands-on experiences which flexible seating and STEM kits will allow them to experience. When my students enter my classroom, they should be engaged and excited to learn science, mathematics, and Spanish while finding comfort in applying their knowledge in these subjects. Flexible seating and hands-on opportunities will supplement and enrich the material I teach. In using the flexible seating model in my classroom, I look forward to offering my young learners with the opportunity to make careful decisions about their optimal seating option. This way, the students will be self-motivated and in charge of the outcome from their seating choice.
