Responsibility and organization are extremely important to getting the year off to a great start. The students in my room will work in small groups. Storage and organizational supplies will help students foster responsibility as they manage group supplies and materials each day. When students are aware of where their daily materials are kept, there are less interruptions that can eventually decrease the amount of learning happening over time. The 3 drawer carts will be used at the small groups to hold materials such as dry erase boards and markers, leveled books, daily journals, etc. The 6 drawer cart will be used to house the activities and materials needed for lessons each week. The 12 drawer cart will hold materials that are used during differentiated reading and math groups. This project will help teach responsibility as well as the importance of organization, as students will have a defined space for their materials.
