This year our school has been fortunate to start a Young 5's program to provide extra time and support for those students who need it before entering kindergarten. With this program being new many of the supplies needed are missing. Young children need a space where they can come together to build a classroom community, learn, explore and move! This carpet would create a comfortable space for my young learners to do all of these things. As I mentioned before my students come from diverse backgrounds which makes it so important to have a space where we can make connections and build our school family. It is also equally important to have that space to get our wiggles out and learn through movement and exploration as well. It is my goal as an educator to create an environment in my classroom that is warm and welcoming. An environment where they feel safe to learn and free to explore. The space created by this carpet would do just that!
