The best way for children to learn new skills is through interaction with other children. Most of my students come to school with little to no knowledge of the English language. Some also lack social skills and do not understand how to collaborate and interact with other children their age. With these supplemental materials, my students will learn phonics, important social skills, and will learn to play and interact with one another. The games and activities that I have selected will help my second graders learn problem solving skills, communication and social skills, as well as helping them use their newly acquired English vocabulary.
