My goal with the Folger Library Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet editions is not only help my students understand the language and beauty of Shakespeare, but to help them develop critical thinking skills as they use the tools provided to interpret the text. I want to build my students confidence with difficult texts, but also create independent, critical thinkers. I hope with continued confidence they will begin to question, build a deeper understanding, and acceptance of the world around them. With the Folger edition of Romeo and Juliet I hope my students develop an understanding and love of Shakespeare that I didn't have in high school, and only found once in college with the help of the Folger Library.

About my class
