My school prides itself on making and establishing relationships. The students in my class are kind and expressive. They come from economically and educationally diverse backgrounds. Most of them can read fluently, but many struggle with comprehension. In my classroom, my students set their own reading goals and commit to weekly meetings to track their progress. Books on a wide variety of topics are essential to encourage reluctant readers to commit to reading goals.
