As a Kindergarten teacher I'm the first teacher many students have and have the greatest responsibility to teach them to read. I want all of my students to learn and love to read. I consider teaching these young children a privilege and take great pride in doing so. My school uses the Accelerated Reader program to help increase reading and reading comprehension for the students in grades K-2. To motivate our students to read we have created the Accelerated Reader store(AR store) to reward the students for all their hard work! Who wouldn't want something to show for all the hard work they have been doing in school??? I know my students would! As the students read books and take quizzes they will earn points to shop at the AR store. Giving these students a reward of their choosing will motivate them to continue to read and earn for the next AR store. Our school will hold the AR store throughout the year to reward and motivate all students for their accomplishments.
