I have selected various titles which are mentor texts and age appropriate to support students learning. For each content area, I have found titles that can reinforce content being taught. The titles in this list are books that will engage kindergarten students and connect each lesson taught to literacy. Studies show that teaching math, science, social studies, and language arts concepts through engaging and vibrant mentor texts excite students and allow them to deeply connect with the content taught. Therefor, I have done my best to find at least one title to supplement the curriculum I plan to teach in each content area for the school year. Those areas include math, reading, writing, grammar, social studies, social skills, science, and health.
