My classroom is a modified early intervention special education math and science 4th grade classroom. I teach departmentalized math and science to currently 28 students: 4 general education, 7 special education, and 17 early intervention students. I student taught 3rd grade math and science with these kids last year so being hired on to loop up to 4th grade was a dream come true. With my own neurodivergency, I believe it's helped foster a community of understanding and determination. I have some of the sweetest, wiggliest kids in my class. As a first year teacher, everything up to this point has come out of pocket. My goal is to provide a few more options for my students to work and focus.
