My students are a group of wonderful 1st graders in North Carolina. They are energetic and curious, and love reading new books. These students are constantly asking questions, trying to learn new things, and exploring their world. They absolutely light up when they recognize something we have learned about in one of their books. My students love working together on projects where they can create and discover. In first grade, we work a lot with learning to read, as well as reading to learn, and my students truly love to read.
