While my students get daily recess, once that time is up, the materials are locked away. Whenever my class needs a brain break and the weather is nice, we love to get a couple of minutes to go outside and play. After many discussions, the students decided it would be a great idea to try to get the opportunity to have our own equipment to play cooperatively outside, as well as inside when it's cold or rainy! My students said that they would love the chance to optimize their free time and play games together. This project includes various types of playground balls, from kickball to football, as well as other types of fun supplies such as a Velcro throw and catch kit. With these assorted balls and other types of equipment that they voted on, we know that our outdoor time will be such a welcomed treat. Other resources are large foam dice which can be used for a variety of activities (each number can be a different work out!) and a mesh bag to keep all of the equipment together. For indoor opportunities, there are koosh balls and an assorted sensory ball set to provide students the ability to throw something around in a safe manner. We also included an indoor basketball net for students to use independently as well as a part of classroom review games!
