Students are more engaged in a classroom where they are comfortable. I'm hoping to make my classroom more welcoming and homey. I hope to create a better classroom environment by offering flexible seating for my students. Students can work at a bar height table with stools, bean bag chairs, or bungee chairs. Students who struggle with sitting still (many of my students are ADHD) can apply a stability disc to their chair to help them stay focused on what they are learning. Not only will they be more comfortable, but my allowing flexible seating as a reward, classroom behavior will improve.
