The students I serve are living in a high poverty area. The district they attend does the best they can with the resources they have available. Unfortunately they are not always able to provide all of the materials that are needed in the classrooms. My classroom is in desperate need of leveled readers. We do not have any at this time, and I feel they are a very important part of reading instruction. I took over my class mid year and discovered most of my students were functioning well below grade level on all levels. My goal is to have them all on grade level by the end of the year.
