I teach in a 2nd grade collaborative team-teaching class (i.e. inclusion) in New York. My school serves general and special education students from Pre-K through Grade 2. My class is comprised of 14 general education students and 11 special education students who live in a high poverty community. All of my students struggle in the area of literacy, particularly with their lack of vocabulary.
