I am bursting with ideas on how I will use this iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in my high school math classroom. First and most important is having students use it in the classroom to motive and take ownership of their learning. Watching a teacher do math problems over and over on the board while copying down in their notebook is not as fun or effective in learning a concept. I want the students to take turns with the Apple pencil working through problems and creating problems for their peers to work through. I want to have students create short videos of concepts to view later while reviewing or for an assessment of understanding. Using an Apple pencil with the iPad Pro will motivate students to get involved in their learning and will allow students to show what else they are able to do. I also would personally use it to create math assignments. It is much easier to write math problems down with a pencil than trying to type it out. There are programs that take a written equation and turn it into a typed equation for me. Google Jamboard is great collaborative tool that would be made easier with an iPad and Apple Pencil. Teaching both remotely and in person has been difficult but a great learning experience. These tools will take some stress off of me as a teacher and free up my imagination to create beautiful math project for the kids. I cannot wait for the students to get their hands on some new technology!
