I teach in a suburb of Detroit. It is a working class neighborhood. The students are growing as readers, but this would increase their daily interaction with listing to fluent reading. Although, the families in my school are very supportive, the cost of a listening center is way out of reach for me personally or to ask someone to pay for it. Our school budgets are cut so much we don't get any extra materials for our classrooms.
