My students are not the "sit down at a desk and stare at the board" type of kids. They are active! They like to move while they create. Movement is scientifically proven to help activate the mind. And what better way to do this, then to give students the option to move while they learn? Sometimes they have a better perspective while working on the floor. Some like to sit in chairs, others like to stand while they work, or maybe bouncing and wobbling on a stool or exercise ball will help the creative juices flowing. By having all these flexible seating options in the classroom, it will help my students to better concentrate and be prepared in 3rd grade.
