My new classroom is already furnished with standard tables and chairs, and I have recently purchased a couch to add to the mix. Providing a wide variety of flexible seating options in my classroom will help me to create an optimal environment that will best support the learning of all students. Depending on the student's personality and the task they're working on, they may choose to sit on a chair, on the couch, or on the floor. They may need to wiggle a bit or just sit still. Their preferences may change from day to day, task to task, or even hour to hour! I am hoping to add wobble stools, floor cushions, and balance balls to my current options.
