My students come as new "big boys and girls" to Kindergarten, but many have never been in a classroom environment. Some have never held scissors or glue sticks. The students come in at many different developmental levels and need specific instruction on how to complete tasks. Many children come knowing how to write their name, but do not know what the letters are. Some children may have never held a pencil. I find that at this age and level of development, learning is acquired by seeing and doing.
