"Where do we put our papers, Mrs. Beery?" This is a question I was asked time and time again when I first started teaching kindergarten at my tiny but mighty school in rural Nottawa, Michigan. To my surprise the students didn't have a dedicated place they could easily turn in their work before they take it home. Throwing work in backpacks leads to lost papers and crumpled art work. We need a space where students can put the work they are proud of, where I can easily pass out notes from myself and the school, and where they can grab their work themselves. They need to be able to take everything home in an orderly and organized manner, and it helps teach them responsibility. I will use labels to assign cubbies throughout the years. Thank you for supporting, it is much appreciated!
