Hello! My name is Kimberlee Lamendola and I am a Kindergarten-8th Grade Literacy Interventionist in a highly diverse, low income school in Denver, CO. My job as a literacy interventionist is to work with small groups of students to help build missing reading and writing skills and help get them caught up to the rest of their peers. Most of my students range from a year below to 4 or more years below the other students in their grade. I am often the last step before students are referred to the special education team and tested for IEPs. My goal is to get kids growing before it comes to that. Besides being the school's literacy interventionist, I am also the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for the school. That means that I am also in charge of looking out for our advanced, gifted students. I feel lucky to be working with so many different types of students and to be able to help get them what they need!
