Do you know what it is like to sit in a classroom expected to learn and succeed, yet the resources that have been provided are not suitable? My students know exactly what that feels like. As an ELA teacher, my goal is to increase reading and writing fluency, make learning relevant, take students on the ride of deeper thinking, and capitalize "teachable moments." When students are asked to write, they should feel free, because writing can be liberating. But, many of my students feel restricted. Their major complaints are: outdated resources, lack of field trips, limited access to technology. Therefore, my goal is to make a change in their education. My goal is to show them that I care. My goal is to seek funding for classroom resources, that will enhance the education of my students. They deserve all that we can give!
