Regardless of what the lesson plan is on any given day, I believe that every class should begin with students opening up their very own drawing pad. When I was in college, we were required to purchase drawing pads, and we used them every single day. We started every class with a drawing exercise or a 10- to 15-minute free draw. With anything in life, if you want to be good at it, you have to practice. My students are always excited about art and love to draw. With your help providing drawing pads for my students, limited drawing paper won't be an issue for a while, and my students will be able to take home a collection of their drawings at the end of the year.
