With the challenges of COVID quarantines, I need to be able to provide ways for my students to interact with books both physically and digitally. The rug will provide my students a designated area on my linoleum floor to read their library books. The blocks on the rug will help them stay in their own space while still being comfortable. Because most of my students have never been away from home, the best way I can help them transition to this new environment is by making it seem warm and familiar - the addition of the rug and floor cushions will do just that!
We use our Chromebooks frequently in the classroom for differentiated activities, books & stories, assessments, and computer skills-based tasks, so fully charged devices are a must! The charging stations will also allow me to always have the students' Chromebooks ready in the event of a quarantine. With their batteries always charged, they won't have to wait before they get back to learning. In addition to making sure our technology is ready to go, I need to make sure our pencil-paper resources are always organized and ready at a moment's notice which is why the paper organizer will be so helpful! I'll be able to put each student's work in a designated place so I can easily grab it and make a work packet for those who have to stay home.
