Having a classroom library with books relevant to our learning units will pique my students' curiosity and entice them to learn more on their own. Learning science through books, for my students, really is the best of both worlds for them! They will have cross-curricular exposure to not only science but reading and literacy as well. Even my struggling readers will pick up a book and attempt to learn from the pictures. Including these books in my classroom library will not only benefit my current students but my future students as well.
