My classroom currently has wall to wall bulletin boards, chalkboards, and surprisingly a SMART Board. However, I learned that the projector and document camera are not in working order. My school does its absolute best with the available funding, but the technology is replenished as funds become available. My students need to be able to visualize and show off their learning experiences. I ask my students to draw, explain, and share on a constant basis. the projector and document camera will go a long way to supporting this goal. I can have my students come and showcase their work for the other students. I can have my students create wonderful electronic project submissions to showcase. I want to make sure that my students experience the joys and creative expression that comes with mathematics. As they progress through the concepts, I want to make sure that I am not the only voice in the room. I want to bring in other voices from within the classroom, my students, and outside the classroom from the internet. Having a projector and document camera will go a LONG way to supporting that goal.
