I teach ESL/Intervention students from kinder to 5th grade. My teaching is hands on, partner reading and verbal communication. I am always in need of art materials, ESL workbooks, and notebooks for the students. We use pictures/models to visually associate the words they are learning with a picture/models and either writing the word next to the item or glue the word next to the picture. I have experienced that when my students have their own workbook, notebook, art supplies, or flash cards they are more engaged in wanting to continue their learning of the English language because they have seen their progression over the school year and are proud to see their work not only in their books but also in art on the walls.
