I have a preschool classroom of seven children aged 3-5 who are diagnosed with Autism while also some of my students display symptoms of ADHD. Sometimes my students need a simple physical activity to help them become more alert and "get their engines going" when they have been working or sitting for awhile. In addition, I have students who are sometimes so over stimulated that they need to run or jump to get their "wiggles" out to better help them focus. While having a class of seven children and sometimes two teachers I am not able to take my students out of the class to the motor room to use the equipment that the students need to meet their sensory needs. Having a trampoline in my classroom can greatly benefit my students by giving them easy access to a motor activity that they are able to engage in independently. The use of the trampoline can help both alert and calm my students; depending on what their needs are at the time.
