Currently, all students have to share books in class and they are only able to use a book for the time of the class period. This really hinders the students from reading at their own pace and being able to really digest the book. Also, they are unable to read at home. I am asking for a grade level set of books for my classroom to allow the students to each have a copy of the book to read at their own pace and study. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. This classroom set of book The Lightning Thief will be used in conjunction with our Social Studies curriculum when discussing Ancient Greece. Teaching cross-curricular really allows for students to have a deep understanding of the concepts.
