Many students start school with little to no exposure to others outside their immediate family. Most have not learned the alphabet or how to count to ten. (RF.K.1d, K.CC.A.1) The books will provide the opportunity to learn about others and to be empathetic. (SS.K.1, SS.K.10, SS.K.11, W.K.1) The headphones will deliver more tailored learning for the individual students so they can start building foundations for the future. (RF.K, K.CC.A, K.CC.B) The manipulatives and supplies will provide and enrich learning opportunities. Many of these items can be used in the classroom now and in years to come. (K.CC.B.4)
