We need a computer cart, so we don't have to share it with another class. Right now, we share a computer cart with the other third-grade, which means that our students have to go back and forth between classes and share computers and germs. I'd like to have a computer cart dedicated to our classroom to reduce the number of people our class encounters. Within our course, we also need headphones so that students don't have to share, again decreasing connection. Isolation from COVID-19 has increased the need for social-emotional learning support. I am also requesting some flexible seating options for my classroom. This allows students to control their physical surroundings giving them more autonomy and comfort. Flexible seating encourages collaboration among students. This, in turn, allows for more creativity and discussion - things that my students struggle with after the last year and a half of living more isolated due to Covid health concerns. We will also be able to use the furniture in a "cool down corner" for when our big emotions get the best of us.
