Every year I ensure that my classroom is inviting, colorful, educational and a place where my students want to learn. My students come from very challenging backgrounds and school is their safe haven. I like to make sure I have all the materials necessary to create this type of environment, but unfortunately there is a lack of funding this school year, which will make it very difficult to make sure I have the necessary materials. My school is a Title I school that has over 90 % of the population on free or reduced lunches. My students have a challenging and difficult home life. Our school is a public school in an urban community. School is the safest place for some of my students and a place where they can feel at ease and not worry about things going on in their lives. I always want to make sure that every one of my students gets not only the best education, but are exposed to the best of everything. I want my classroom stocked with the best materials, supplies and books.
