I have seen first hand with my students how Osmo interactive apps for the iPad put them in charge of their own learning through hands-on integration of technology and manipulatives. Osmo enables the iPad to merge the power of physical play with the digital advantages of real-time feedback. Playing beyond the screen invites students to collaborate on tables or floors while manipulating tangible game pieces such as letter tiles, number tiles and coding blocks. I pioneered Osmo in my district and introduced it to fellow teachers and administrators by teaching a session during our technology training day. My colleagues were instantly hooked! I am seeking to add more Osmo games and bases to my classroom, so my students will have additional opportunities to learn beyond the screen!
