Hello Everyone, I teach at Jere Baxter Middle Prep, a school on the rise. My community is comprised of students who are living at or below the poverty. Although, this type of description of urban schools is far too common what makes our school so unique is how much we do with so little. My classroom changes each year as we try to make sure students can easily access their environments. One thing that is prevalent in each classroom is the lack of appropriate resources to engages in STEM learning. I will be teaching 6th grade in the fall, with limited access to the very support we need the most for scientific discovery, our online science tech book. Every student in my class has had minimal exposure to the world around them. Every day, I work to ensure their educational experiences brings the world, they lack access to, alive in science and math.
