My students are 6 and 7 years old. They are all on the Autism Spectrum and vary in abilities and functioning levels. We are a special school serving only students with disabilities. Our class is part of an off site that is housed within a Community School building. Our students require individualized instruction for the large majority of the day. Each of my students have different and unique needs. The one thing they all have in common is their need to develop language/communication skills. The children depend on pictures to assist them while communicating. When the pictures are in color the children connect/relate with them and utilize them throughout the day, as well as at home.
