Welcome to my page and my classroom of unique, inquisitive, and energetic learners. I have been teaching for 15 years at the same school. For the last 10 years I have been teaching gifted and talented students in a magnet program. I absolutely love this often forgotten population of students. They have needs that are very different from the general population of students, that requires me to continually change my teaching methods and curriculum to meet their needs. I am extremely fortunate to have my students for three years. This enables me to build long lasting relationships with them and their families. They also build lasting friendships with each other that span through grade school, middle school, high school, and college. I refer to my students as "my kids" because they all hold a special place in my heart and they know that I am here to support them even after they have left my school.
