These books will allow students to further empathize with different perspectives within the world. They will be able to read these books at home, school, or wherever they may be! We will be completing a book project on this book to expand their knowledge of communism in the 20th century. By having students read fiction for a history class, we are reinforcing the importance of reading and helping them with their English classes as well. We are also working with the English department and librarians to make this lesson as beneficial as possible for all the students. The students will have the entire spring semester to read and work on their projects, so both my higher- and lower-level readers will have the opportunity to get the most of this book.
