Even though my students come from high poverty and often experience trauma, they are dedicated students. They come to school everyday to learn. They have a want to read, write, learn math and science everyday. We have created a positive learning environment in our classroom and take pride in our successes. Our school is a K-8 school and services over 850 students and we have a high poverty rate. We have been working hard on the implementation of school wide positive behavior interventions and supports. Through our PBIS we have been encouraging and rewarding positive behaviors.
