My students live in a small rural town in which industry has dwindled imposing unemployment among a lot of our parents. In turn, my students do not have access to books at home and there are limited books and resources at school. We need a variety books and other reading resources to enhance our reading program to continue to grow independent readers. This upcoming school year, our school will be implementing the "Daily Five" reading curriculum framework. Presently, we will be operating on a very limited budget. In order for this program to be successful, resources are extremely important to achieve the most beneficial results for the students in my classroom.
