Our focus for this project is technology. While our students will often have access to smart phones and tablets or iPads at home, it is not often that the students have access to computers or desktops with keyboards at home. While the school has a small computer lab, our students only get roughly one hour a week to use the computers. Today being computer literate is crucial to academic success of students. Our school requires several standardized tests through out the year that are taken on computers. Since the students hardly have time with computers, they struggle with these tests; it is incredibly frustrating for them and their scores suffer. If we are able to get these extra Chromebooks for our students to use in class we will be able to give the students more opportunities to learn how to use computers and ultimately help them succeed in the long term.
