Students will have the opportunity to read individually, with a partner, and in group settings. These various situations will encourage students to share their personal thoughts about the text and to make connections to their environment and to other texts they have read in the past. They will be required to participate in Reader's Workshop, which involves students sharing their ideas, writing a response to the text, and answering questions offered by the teacher or other group members. These stories will take students on a reading journey! The books I have chosen will challenge my higher level readers and encourage analyzing and critical thinking as they read about various fictional and nonfictional topics.
